Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:15-18.
Verse 15, "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,"
Ten lepers were healed of the death sentence of leprosy. Ten lepers who were ostracized from society were made clean. Ten lepers had cried for mercy and they all received it. These ten lepers could represent born again Christians like you and me.
When we accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, we were delivered from our death sentence. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Jesus Christs' pure blood applied to our sin record washed it white as snow allowing us to come close to the Father. Ephesians 2:13, "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." Everyone who humbly cries for His mercy, will receive it. John 6:37, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
The challenge today is to glorify God with our walk and with our talk. Only 1 of 10 healed lepers showed their appreciation and worshipped Him. If your sin stained life has been cleansed and made whole through Jesus Christ, take the time to turn back to Him and give Him the praise and adoration He deserves. Heaven is your eternal home!
