Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 14:34, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
The solution for the struggles in our country is not politically based. The solution for our country is not gaining more wealth. We see clearly that righteousness is what will lead to a nation being blessed by God. There is so much oppression and sadness due to the acceptance of sin in every shape and size. The sin of an individual, a family, or a country only yields heartaches and difficulties. It brings about the disapproval (reproach) of Almighty God.
All of this can be turned around by living right. We live right when we follow the Word of God. We live right when we say no to the flesh and yes to the Spirit. As Dr. Bob Jones Sr. used to say, "Do right until the stars fall." It is time we sought God's help in doing what is right!
