Our Scripture reading today is Luke 12:25-27.
Verse 26, "If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?"
What can we do without the help of our God? What task can we complete without God giving us the strength and ability? While in the moment, we may not be thinking about how God enabled us to accomplish the project. Without God, we would not be able to do even the smallest job. This is a reminder to praise God every day for providing us the strength and wisdom we need.
There is also a settling truth in these verses. Because God is the great provider of everything, we do not need to worry about what seems like an impossible task. If there is something in our heart today that is overwhelming, we need to give it to God. Instead of constantly thinking about it, think about almighty God. Follow the admonition of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 and think only on the things he mentions. God is able to do far more than we could ever ask or think!
