Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Why would we try and do anything without Christ? Why would we try and do even one simple task in our own strength? We can be very independent at times and this leads to our failing. Jesus Christ said in John 15 that without Him we cannnot accomplish anything. The Spirit of God indwells us as believers. If we let Him, He will enable us to do "all things".
Our verse for today proves that with our dependence on Jesus Christ, we can be content in any situation. God is faithful and knows exactly what we need and don't need. God gave us our lives and He can be trusted with our lives. Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
