Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 3:15-17. 
Verse 17, "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
Our words and actions are equally important to the influence we have been given. We give a testimony based on what we say and do.  Can we continue to live a certain way and live it in the name of the Lord Jesus? Can we give Him glory for the words spoken in our home?  Are our actions becoming of a Christian?
1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
The key to applying verse 17 is found in the previous verse. In order to speak and act like a follower of Jesus Christ, we must have God's Word in us. God's Word and God's Spirit will guide us to talk and walk in a way that's brings glory to God.  It is of the utmost importance that we read, study, memorize and meditate on the Scriptures!
