Our Scripture reading today is James 3:5, "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!"
For the most I've looked at this verse at how much damage the tongue can do. Based on the context of this passage, this is the primary application. Could the fire from our little member be used for the glory of God? Could we use our tongue for boasting on the goodness of our God?
As we yield ourselves to the Lord on a daily basis, this would include our tongue. His Spirit can help us control what comes out of our mouth. He can change our self boasting into giving God the glory. God alone is worthy of our boasting. God continues to great and mighty works and they are marvelous in our eyes.
Let's use our little member today to speak of Jesus Christ and His saving power!
