Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 4:4-6.
Verse 4, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
The Lord Jesus Christ made provision for all sinners to be redeemed and made part of the family of God. His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection opened the door for us to one day enter into the presence of God for all eternity. John writes that we are of God and are overcomers. There is no reason for the child of God to fear the spirit of Antichrist. This tells us that our relationship with our heavenly Father is not just for the eternal, but it is also for while we walk in these fragile temples we call bodies.
Every where we go in this life, we are in dwelt by the Spirit of God. Our confidence must not be in self but in the Spirit. Our faith must not be in self but in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is far greater than anyone or anything Satan will throw at us. One of many statements God has taught me over the years is, "Stop trying and start trusting!" Spiritual victory comes to our lives when we trust the One Who is in us to enable us to be victorious. The more we trust; the more victories we will see.
