Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 4:7-10.
Verse 8, "We are troubled on every side, yet not in distressed."
Many times in life there is no way to avoid trouble. I even remember someone referring to another individual with trouble as part of their name. Have you heard that one too? :)
When trouble comes into our lives it can reveal how strong or weak our faith is. How do we act when trouble arrives? According to our text, we need not be stressed over trouble. In the case of the Corinthians, trouble was all around them and yet they found a way to avoid being distressed. The key to avoiding stress in times of trouble the preparation we make before trouble even comes. Our daily time with God is like "practicing" for the big game. If I don't practice, practice and practice some more, I will not be ready for the game. Take time every day to prepare for trouble. One never knows when it will come, but with God's help, we can be prepared!
Have a wonderful Monday!
