Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 4:12, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:"

The Apostle Peter reminds us that there is nothing unusual about facing and going through challenging times.  Remember, this is the same Peter that told Jesus He should not go to the cross.  “Once it seemed strange to the Apostle Peter that his Master should think of suffering. Now he thinks it strange that He could have imagined anything else.” (Meyer)  Our verse for today goes right along with the Bible message from Psalm 107 that we heard last night.  Jesus is there with us in the expected challenges and trials that come our way.  As we go through them, we will experience joy that only He can provide.
