Our Scripture reading today is Luke 23:32-34.
Verse 33, "And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left."
They are just four words. The statement itself is not complicated at all. This does not minimize the importance of what is said in these four simple words, "There they crucified him..." Jesus Christ, the Son of God, willingly gave His sinless life at Calvary. The innocent Lamb was sacrificed for sinful men like you and me. He died that we might live. He died that we might have a relationship with the Father. Think of this!!
May I be really transparent with you today? I simply cannot understand why God's children are unwilling to surrender time, talent, and treasure for Him. Keep in mind our text for today. Keep in mind, "There they crucified him..." We have everything because of that statement. We have peace and joy because of "There they crucified him..." Why do God's children give so little time to Him? Why do we miss more church services than we attend? Why do we allow temporal things to have a higher priority than eternal things? Our lives are not our own. Our one short life belongs to the One who was brutally crucified at Calvary. Would you please take a few moments to examine your life? I am speaking from my heart to the Anchor Baptist family. The vapour we have should be used to bring glory to God. I don't think this is happening when we give so little time to Him. Could we all give Him more? YES! The Lamb of God is worthy.
