Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 13:20-21.
Verse 21, "Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
As each Sunday morning comes our way, we are reminded of an empty tomb and the victory we have through that empty tomb. God is continuing to mature us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is our privilege to give Him all the glory and honour that only He alone deserves.
I am drawn to four words in verse 21, "to do his will..." It quickly reminded me of the song lyrics my beautiful mother would sing in church, "His Will...His Will, I must do." Oh, dear brother or sister in Christ, this is the greatest daily decision we can make. It is not a decision we make one time for life. That would be our salvation decision. We were not saved to live our lives how we choose. We were not saved to live in contrast to how God's Word tells us to live. Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead so I could use my one life to pursue wealth and so called worldly happiness.
Please pause with me and consider both the words of Scripture and the song that was previously mentioned. Are you willing to do His will? Is the will of God a MUST for you?
He is RISEN!
