Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:34-36.

Verse 35, "And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him."

While Moses and Elijah were also a part of this magnificent meeting, God put the focus on His Son.  The spotlight was turned to the Saviour, Jesus Christ.  His voice would lead them in the way that they should go.  It would be a comfort and guide in the time of storm.  It would also be a voice of correction when they went away from the will of God.

The simple command given by God on this mountain is still applicable today: "Hear Him."  There are many different ungodly voices in our day that are clamouring for our attention.  Satan is always looking for ways to lead us away from the will of God.  It is very important that we first and foremost heed the voice of God.  His way and will are always best for us.  We should turn off the voices that are ungodly and find more ways to hear from our heavenly Father.  It might be necessary to turn off some movies and music and turn on the audio Bible and or some Bible preaching.
