Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 12:1, "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"
God has a race that is set before each one of us. The only way we will complete our race faithfully is if we eliminate all the extra weight and sin that is in our lives. We should strive to be faithful in every area of our Christian life. Daily, it is important that we take inventory as to how we are running our race. Is it being run in our own strength or are we filled with the Spirit?
The race that God has given us will end and in some cases it ends abruptly. We should be living every day as if it were our last. This could be your last lap. Are you ready to meet thy God?
