Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:5, "To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child."

Mary was not required to travel with Joseph but it all made sense due to her being so later in the pregnancy.  It also would be a fulfillment of prophecy from Micah as to where Jesus would be born.  Micah 5:2, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

God's plan for your life and mine is always the best plan.  We may have an idea of what we want to do each day and week. God's direction is always the best!  God's plan is always the best!  Joseph and Mary were in the midst of a plan that started before the foundation of the world.  God loves us the same and has something special for us.
