Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:39-40.
 
Verse 40, "And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him."
 
We are sure based on Scripture that Jesus Christ was born.  The exact date has been debated for centuries and I choose not to enter that debate.  Mary was His mother and Joseph his step-father.  Our text today gives us about all there is in the Bible in reference to Jesus from about one month old until he was twelve years old.      
 
Any parent would want this description said about their son or daughter.  The growth of children comes as parents invest time into their children.  Also, a child will follow the lead of his or her parent.  A priceless gift we can give to those we influence is a faithful, disciple of Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 6:4, "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
