Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:28-31.
Verse 30, "And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:"
If it was in our time, cameras would definitely have been clicking and recording. There is no doubt it was a very special event for the disciples to see. "For this brief time, Jesus took on an appearance more appropriate for the King of Glory than for a humble man." Considering the message Jesus recently delivered to the disciples, this would have been a confidence builder.
I highlighted verse 30 due to the fact that two men were quickly recognized. The disciples could tell that Moses and Elijah were part of this special prayer meeting. We can take from this that we will know and recognize one another in Heaven. The separation that physical death for the believer is only temporal. We will be reunited with family and friends who were saved. Our time on this Earth is so short compared to an eternity in Heaven with Jesus. I will close today with one stanza and the chorus of "When We All Get to Heaven."
Let us then be true and faithful,Trusting, serving every day;Just one glimpse of Him in gloryWill the toils of life repay. When we all get to Heaven,What a day of rejoicing that will be!When we all see Jesus,We'll sing and shout the victory!
