Our Scripture reading today is Luke 1:76-79.
Verse 78, "Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,"
What a beautiful message we have at the conclusion of Luke chapter one. Zacharias gives a prophetic message-song that tells of his Saviour and his son, John. He has yet to meet Jesus Christ, but Zacharias has already settled in his heart who He is. Have you settled it in your heart who Jesus Christ is?
A day should not pass us by when we fail to give thanks to God for His tender mercy. God's tender mercy keeps us from getting what we deserve. There is no question in my mind that because of my sin, I deserve to spend eternity in the Lake of fire. The same can be said of every one reading this email. God's mercy allowed His Son to take on sin's penalty for us. God is rich in mercy! Ephesians 2:4, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,"
