Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 5:11-13.
Verse 13, "And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!"
I heard it said once that, "Everyone is my teacher." The more time that goes by, the more that statement becomes more true. We can learn something from everyone. By the way, it could be that we are learning what we should avoid as well as what we should do. Just last week from my office window, I could hear a mother yelling at her child. While I could not see the altercation, it not only broke my heart for the child, but it reminded me something I should never do.
God's Word is filled with teachers of righteousness and unrighteousness. These examples are there for our admonition. If we apply God's wisdom, we can copy what was righteous and avoid what was unrighteous. God's Spirit will always lead us to do right. John 16:13, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." Be sure to listen to the Teacher living inside of you.
