Our Scripture reading today is Joshua 14:10-12.
Verse 11, "As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in."
Joshua is now 85 years of age. He has seen much over his 8 plus decades of life. There have been miraculous days and there have been days of discouragement and defeat. It would appear that the last 45 years have been filled with day after day of going in circles. As we take all this and miuch more into consideration, it really is amazing to listen to his zeal. He is not ready to roll over and sail off into the desert sunset. He still has the vigour of his 40 year old self when he was sent to spy out the land of Canaan.
How old are you? I am not asking you to tell me how old you are, but I am asking you to evaluate where you are in life. It could be that you don't need to evaluate 45 years, but how about the last 45 days? Possibly even the last couple of years. The strength that Joshua had was not in and of himself. It was from a close relationship with Jehovah. The LORD was his strength at 40 and at 85. It could be time for you to once again recognize just Who is your strength. This will definitely enable to claim any mountain God has for you.
Psalm 19:14, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."
