Good LORD'S Day Morning,
Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 13:4, "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,"
The love of God does not allow envy to come into one's way of thinking. Envy is damaging and accomplishes nothing except causing hurt. Love is thankful when someone else is honoured or gets a promotion at work. “They are ever willing that others should be preferred before them.” (Clarke) Envy put Abel in the grave and Joseph in the pit. It is not a sin that should be minimized in any way. If you have any envy in your heart, confess it and forsake it immediately. "Charity envieth not..."
