Our Scripture reading today is Mark 1:32-35.
Verse 35, "...he departed into a solitary place and prayed."
The Lord Jesus made time for prayer! A solitary place for the Lord Jesus may have been a wilderness or desert. It was a place He could be alone and it would definitely be a place of quiet. In this verse we are given an example to follow. Whether the Son of God really needed to pray or not, He leads His disciples by word and deed.
Where is your solitary place? When is your quiet time? It is impossible to live the victorious Christian life without spending time in the Word of God and prayer. We have no idea what we will face on a daily basis. God has given us the tools to prepare for victory. Matthew 6:6, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
