Today's Scripture reading is Psalm 137:1-4.
Verse 4, "How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?"
"This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through. My treasures are laid up some where beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore." This hymn had not been written quite yet when Psalm 137 was penned, but it definitely goes along with what the Psalmist is saying. Hebrews 11:13 speaks of us being "strangers and pilgrims" this side of Heaven. In Heaven, our praise will be perfect and it will be for all eternity! As we consider the joys of eternity in Heaven, we must also continue to be a bright light in this dark world. May our voices and our lives sing His song in this strange land.
