Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 4:12-14.
Verse 14, "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world."
There is no greater peace and joy than knowing that Heaven is our eternal home. We can only say that due to the love God has for sinners like you and me. Our sin deserved to be paid for by our eternal death in Hell. The Apostle John tells us in this passage of Scripture that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be our Saviour and die in our place. If you are born again, you have seen this. Praise the Lord!
The second part of verse 14 is something many Christians have never done or rarely do..."testify." This word carries with it the idea of being a witness. We are to tell others what we have seen. In this case, what we have seen is the life changing truth of the Gospel. How often do you testify of what Jesus Christ has done and is doing in your life? As we learned last Sunday, we are obligated to speak of Christ. It should not be only an obligation, but a passion to tell others of God's love for them. This is day 5 of our December outreach: 31 in 31. Have you been testifying by giving out Gospel tracts? Please keep praying for fruit that remains!
