Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 13:12-15.
Verse 15, "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."
Since our sacrifice for sin has been paid, we are privileged to bring a sacrifice of praise to our God. He alone is worthy of this praise. Every day we live, we are one day closer to the "continuing city" called Heaven. This fact alone is enough reason to praise the Lord all day long. This world and all of its challenges and difficulties is not our eternal home. We are only here for such a short time in comparison to all of eternity. Instead of continually finding things to complain about, let's use our time to give the Lord praise and thanksgiving. Verse 16 of our text tells us that God is pleased with our sacrifice of praise. Oh that we might please Him today!
