Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 61:1-8.
Verse 2, "From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
This chapter in God's Word has helped me time and time again. I would like to encourage you to read it a couple times. King David was on the run from his own son, Absalom. Absalom was trying to steal the kingdom away from his father. What a desperate situation for David. This would have been such a heavy burden for him to carry. The king is no longer in his palace. He is no longer in Jerusalem or the temple and yet he cries out for deliverance. There isn't anyplace we can go where our God cannot hear our cries for help.
Are you overwhelmed today? Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Are you discouraged today? Take time to thank the Lord for your salvation.
Are you weary today? Take it all to Jesus. He is the greatest friend we could ever have.
Are you on the run today? Turn around and run to the Lord. His arms are already open.
