Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 10:12, "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

The Christian life is not be compared to someone else's Christian life.  The Apostle Paul says to live this way is not way.  It is a false measurement when it is made with another sinner.  We are to measure ourselves to the likeness of Jesus Christ.  Do we look more like Jesus than we did the day we got saved?  I am referring to the way we live and not our actual looks.  Are the fruit of the Spirit more evident?  Typically, when we get closer to the Lord Jesus we realize just how much of a sinner we truly are.

It is time for each one of us to cast off the works of the flesh and walk in the Spirit.  It is time to stop making excuses for why we aren't attending church faithfully, reading God's Word, telling others the Gospel message, etc... Satan is an expert at providing excuse for Christians who are apathetic and not growing in grace.
