Our Scripture reading today is John 1:10-13.
Verse 10, "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not."
The Creator of the world came into the world so that the people of the world could be saved. Truth was walking with them every day and yet they chose to reject Truth. Isaiah told of this rejection in 53:3, "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not."
While Jesus Christ is not physically in the world today, we have something that is alive and is referred to as a "more sure word of prophecy". God's Word has been preserved for sinners to know Him and be saved. Romans 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The eternal destiny of every soul is determined by what choice is made concering the Saviour. If Jesus Christ is received by faith that soul will spend eternity with Him in Heaven. If Jesus Christ is rejected that soul will spend eternity in Hell.
It is our responsibility to seek for ways to make Him known to everyone around us.
