Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 5:9, "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son."
There is no greater witness than the witness of God. We have the completed Canon of Scripture. What God wants us to know about Him can be found in the Word of God. God makes it very clear that Jesus Christ is His Son and that Jesus is God. John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
The Bible ought to be our final authority for faith and practice. It is the greatest resource we have regarding every area of our lives. Every born again child of God should spend time daily searching its pages for the spiritual nourishment needed for that day. It is impossible to receive the witness of God without opening His Word.
