Our Scripture reading today is Romans 12:1-2.
Verse 1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
It is only by God's grace that we can be forgiven and have eternal life. If we have received God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, we are privileged to be called a child of the King. Jesus Christ became our sacrifice for sin. He died so we could live more abundantly now and for ALL eternity. This gives us the opportunity to live our lives in His service.
Our daily desire and prayer should be for His will to be accomplished in our lives. In order for His will to be accomplished, we must sacrifice our own will. This is our living sacrifice. His plans become our plans. His path becomes our path. While we are on His daily path, we are to strive to live in holiness. He saved us and cleansed us not to go back to the sins of the flesh and world. We were redeemed to bring glory to God. This cannot happen when we are being controlled by the flesh and not the Spirit. Are you living your new life for His glory? It is our "reasonable service".
