Our Scripture reading today is 2 Peter 3:8-9.
Verse 9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
The idea that God has ordained some people to Heaven and some people to Hell is completely against the character of God. Does God know who will be saved? Yes. Does God allow us to make a choice of whether to receive or reject Him? YES! We have been given a free will to receive or reject the gift of salvation that God has provided through Jesus Christ.
I John 4:8 tells us that God is love. He does not send people to Hell. It is His desire that all mankind repent of their sin and by fatih received His gift of eternal life. “As God is not willing that any should perish, and as he is willing that all should come to repentance, consequently he has never devised nor decreed the damnation of any man, nor has he rendered it impossible for any soul to be saved.” (Clarke)
If you are saved, rejoice and give thanks to the Lord! If you are not sure that Heaven is your eternal home, Jesus is ready to save you today. Please take time to watch this video - https://youtu.be/mIeRU12STNw
