Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 5:4, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
There is no doubt that the world is powerful. It is impossible to overcome the world in our own strength. We need help from above. John writes that we need faith. Faith in God and His Word will lead us to the winner's circle. It was faith that the apostles asked for an increase of in Luke 17:5. Faith is still the source of victory that overcomes the world.
