Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 4:4, "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
The Lord Jesus sets an example for everyone who would come after Him and read this passage of Scripture. The way to overcome the temptation our enemy is the Word of God. We have the same tempter today that Jesus had then. The tempter uses the world and our own flesh against us. He has a team of demons that are doing his bidding every day. Taking all of this into consideration can be quite overwhelming. Thankfully, we have the Word of God to lead us victory every time. The forces of evil are no match for Sword of the Spirit!
