Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 3:5-10.
Verse 10, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"
You might say that the Saul had quite the desired resume. He writes about it in verse five and six. Of course, this was his pre-conversion resume. After meeting Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, Paul realizes what really has meaning and importance. He thought he was passionately doing the right thing, but now he is truly living for the glory and honour of God.
Knowing Jesus Christ and doing His will are what the Christian life is all about. As we grow in His grace, we will see more and more victory in our lives. This involves a daily funeral. 1 Corinthians 15:31, "I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily." We die to our will and seek His will. This one daily decision will go a long ways to overcoming sinful habits and living in victory!
