Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 3:22-25.
Verse 23, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
All labour for the Lord Jesus is important and it should be done with maximum effort. In fact, everything we do should be done as unto the Lord. The project your boss asked you to work should be done as unto the Lord. The homework your teacher assigned you should be finished on time and as if you were handing it in to the Lord. Remember, He sees what we are doing and how we are doing it.
Hymn writer, S.C. Kirk wrote the hymn, Our Best, in 1912:
Hear ye the Master's call, "Give me thy best!"
For, be it great or small, that is His test.
Do then the best you can, not for reward,
Not for the praise of man, but for the Lord.
Every work for Jesus will be blest,
But He asks from everyone his best.
Our talents may be few, these may be small,
But unto Him is due our best, our all.
Our God is worthy of our BEST!
