Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 2:19-22.
Verse 19, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;"
Whether Jew or Gentile, we are all ONE in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul is reminding the Gentile converts that they are not second class citizens. The family of God is all inclusive to those who turn to Jesus Christ by faith and receive His gift of eternal life. The colour of our skin and the language of our tongue do not matter when the blood of Jesus has been applied. We are all one in Him!
The Gospel is not only meant to save, but it is also meant to unite. It unites people from various places and upbringings. We can do more together as a team than we can alone. Romans 15:30, "Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;" Philippians 1:27, "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;" There is no "I" in team and we need more team players in the family of God. We must be involved in as many team meetings (church services) as we possibly can!
