Our Scripture reading today is 2 Samuel 11:2, "And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon."
This was not where David was supposed to be at this time. A battle was going on and it was his responsibility to be on the battlefield. He should not have been in Jerusalem to end up on the roof and see this woman taking a bath. One wrong decision of not being the right place would eventually lead to much heartache for David, his family, the woman, and her family.
We learn from this bas example to be at the place where God wants us to be. It is important that we are allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our steps every day. He will direct us to the right places. If we yield to Him, He will help us to overcome temptation when they come. Let us not overlook the importance of each decision we make. May our hearts be led, not by the flesh, but by the Spirit of the living God.
