Our Scripture reading today is Luke 15:31-32.
Verse 32, "It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found."
It was more than right for the family to celebrate the return of the lost prodigal. There should have been rejoicing and the older brother should have been just as thrilled that his younger brother was back home. Sadly, as we have already seen this was not the case. His pride kept him from loving his repenting brother.
Praise the Lord for the hope we have to offer to those who are lost in sin. As long as someone is breathing His air, they have hope. Even those who have blinded by the enemy can still come to themselves and be saved. Just yesterday, my dad shared this verse with us while we were driving in the car: 2 Corinthians 4:4, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." We must continue to pray that our lost family members and friends will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved!
