Our Scripture reading today is Job 23:11-14.
Verse 12, "Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food."
What a powerful testimony from the pen of Job! He listens to what God tells him to do and then he follows through and obeys. His actions verified what his words were saying. When we obey what God's Word admonishes us to do, we are proving our love for Him and His Word. Disobedience speaks without us even moving our lips. We are telling God and others that we do not love Him or His Word. This is such a sad and miserable place for a Christian to live.
God is worthy of our daily surrender to His Word and will. He has given us everything we need. His ways are always best for us. It is time for God's people to simply trust and obey. There is still no other way to be happy in Jesus! We should start the week off by assembling together with God's family. See you at church!
