Our Scripture today is John 14:1-4.
Verse 1, "Let not your heart be troubled..."
The disciples had been with the Lord Jesus for the previous three years. These three years are considered to be His earthly ministry. There had been much territory traveled and many miracles performed. Now, He is going to be leaving them. This was the message they had just heard at the end of chapter 13. John 14 begins with a pep talk of sorts. The disciples need not worry because there would come a day when they would be together again in Heaven.
The events of 2020 have caused many believers to have troubles hearts. This could be said about every year on the calendar. Regardless of what year it is, one truth remains unchanged - God is in control! Our lives are in the hands of our sovereign, loving, all-powerful heavenly Father. There is no need to worry or fret.
Isaiah 45:5-6, "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else."
