Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 4:8-10.
Verse 9, "Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;"
As followers of Jesus Christ, we will always have reasons to rejoice! There are times of trial and trouble, but this should not take away our joy. There are definitely unknowns that come into our lives, but we are never alone. We always have God's Spirit with us as we journey through this life. He is our guide and comforter. John 16:13a, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:" John 16:7, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."
Take time to meditate on this passage of Scripture this morning. Read it through several times. If you do not understand a word, look it up in the dictionary or at blueletterbible.org. As you do, consider your life and the lives of those whom you influence. God's Word is to be read as a personal letter. It is the daily nourishment our souls greatly need. God is still on His throne and we are more than conquerors!
