Our Scripture reading today is Revelation 3:14-16.
Verse 15, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot."
We are living in a day that could be comparable to the church in Laodicea. There is a shift in churches to have more of a worldly look and sound. At a time when we need to be salt and light, many Christians are blending in so much with the lost world that it can become difficult to tell which one is saved and which one is lost. The more we allow the world to impact us in our way of thinking and conduct, the less our lives will impact the world. It has been said over and over again that we cannot have the philosophy of being more worldly so we can win the world to Jesus Christ. Quite the opposite should be true. The more we become like Jesus Christ; the more He will draw the world to Himself.
In every generation there must be a stand taken for Biblical truth. This stand is to be taken from a heart of love for the Lord Jesus and a love for the lost, hell-bound world. According to Scripture, it will always be truth that sets us free. John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
