Our Scripture reading today is Acts 18:24-25.

Verse 24, "And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus."

It seems that Apollos was called directly by the Lord and quite possibly through the preaching of John the Baptist.  I imagine him to be the answer to someone's prayer for consecrated labourers.  He, being "mighty in the scriptures", would openly speak the truth that sets people free.

By the grace of God, we can be mighty in the scriptures.  It is God's Word that is still changing lives.  Yes, even in this sin cursed world, we are witnessing the life changing power of the Gospel.  As we have opportunity, let us all deliver the truth that Apollos once delivered.
