Our Scripture reading today is James 2:15-17.

Verse 17, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

The Word of God is clear that salvation comes by grace through faith.  It is a gift from God to sinners like you and me.  There is no work that we can do to bring about God's forgiveness.  We learn this morning that the faith that saves will also lead to works.  A truly born-again believer will see change in his or her life.  “He doth not say, faith is dead without works, lest it should be thought that works were the cause of the life of faith; but faith without works is dead; implying, that works are the effects and signs of the life of faith.” (Poole)

By God's grace we can follow through on the saving faith by living today and every day for the glory of God.
