Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:1-2.

Verse 2, "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones."

There is an admonition from the Lord Jesus to avoid as many offences as possible.  They are going to happen, but we should do our best to minimize them.  We are to especially be on guard when it comes to dealing with the "little ones".  I think we can make application in reference to our own children and the children we have influence over.  How are we leading them?  Are we leading them to love the Lord?  Are we leading them to be faithful to the Word of God?  Are we leading them to be faithful to church?

It is very important that we set an example worth following.  Ephesians 6:4, "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."  Our children have been given to us as a family and as a church.  May God help us to faithfully love and guide them.
