Our Scripture reading today is Luke 16:8-9.

Verse 9, "And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations."

How are we using the finances God has provided for us?  Are we using our finances with a view of eternity or just a view of this old world that is passing away?  The Lord Jesus turns the parable to the importance of laying up treasure in Heaven.  We should learn how to use the "wealth" we have to make an impact on the kingdom of God now and in the future.  We can observe many people in our world today who have bought into the lie that riches will make all their problems go away.  “Riches promise MUCH, and perform NOTHING: they excite hope and confidence, and deceive both: in making a man depend on them for happiness, they rob him of the salvation of God and of eternal glory.” (Clarke)

The sooner we start investing some of our resources for the Lord, the more glory we will bring to Him.  Can we honestly say that our money management is bringing Him glory?  (See 1 Corinthians 10:31)
