Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 3:6-8.
Verse 8, "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour."
Once again, we have a very timely passage of Scripture to read. Just last evening, a ten year searching for truth journey ended in my office when an Iranian lady bowed her head and accepted God's gift of eternal life. Ten years ago she began to see that Islam was not right and there had to be something else for her. She heard a little bit about Christianity on previous trips to Australia and Italy. We could refer to these times as planting and watering. In addition, she has been to Canada two other times. The difference this time is that her sister's friend became a Christian last summer. Her sister's friend let it be known of her decision which led to our meeting last night. Again, more planting and watering before we even sat down together.
I would like to encourage you today to keep planting the Gospel seed. There are people who are still searching for truth. We do not know what year of their ten year journey they are on. I realize it does not always take ten years for someone to come to truth. The point is we cannot see the heart of man and what God is doing. It is our responsibility to plant and water. The watering could be compared to our time of prayer for those who are lost and in need of salvation. Never give up on someone!
