Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 6:8-9.
Verse 9, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
We recently spoke about the faith of a farmer when he plants the seed and then as little to no control over whether there is a harvest or not. Yes, he can prepare the soil and if possible water the seeds. What we all know about the harvest is that it does not come the next day. There are usually months of waiting for the fruit to come from the seed that was sown. Patience is needed.
As we are labouring for the Lord by planting His Gospel seed, we must not lose hope when the harvest does not arrive when we thought it would. Paul wrote the same to the Thessalonian church in 2 Thessalonians 3:13, "But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." The promise is quite clear, "We SHALL reap, if we faint not." Let's not faint in our delivering of the truth. Let's keep delivering and delivering asking God to bring the harvest according to His will. Who do you need to invite to church or give a Gospel tract to? Who do you need to pray for right now to be saved?
