Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 76:7-10.
Verses 8-9, "Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah."
The judgment of God on the lost world is deliverance for those who are saved. Our judgment for sin was paid for on the cross of Calvary. Many today are scoffing and mocking the fact of judgment for their sin. Their mocking does not change the fact that judgment is coming. While there are perilous times around us, this is minor compared to the full judgment of God. We are not to glory in the judgment of others, instead, we are to continue to witness to them of God's love and mercy that can be received through Jesus Christ.
I am reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
