Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 5:11, "But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."

Do you see the theme of this verse?  There are three different words that describe the way a Christian ought to live his or her life: rejoice, joy, and joyful.  We can have the fullness of joy when we, first, trust the LORD.  Our complete dependence on Him brings joy to our life and even in the most challenging of times.  “You have here a ticket to the banquets of joy. You may be as happy as ever you like. You have divine permission to shout for joy.” (Spurgeon)

As children of God, we have every reason to be joyful.  God is our every present help in time of need.  His mercies are new every morning and His is faithfulness is great.
