Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 10:12-13.
Verse 13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
It is important to recognize the testing or trial in our lives as something that others have gone through and seen the faithfulness of God. We are more than likely not the first ones to have this challenge in our hands and we will not be the last. The child of God can always lean on His goodness and faithfulness. When God leads us to the trial, He will stay with us in the trial and show us the way out of the trial. He IS faithful!
What we learn from others who have made it through similar trials and testings is that their strength was not enough. The sooner we realize that truth, the better. Our Father has all the strength we could ever need. Exodus 15:2, "The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him." 2 Samuel 22:33, "God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect."
